Travelers favorite and recommended Restaurants in Costa Brava
Tapas & Copas Les Escoles Restaurant in Sant Feliu de Boada:
This is my favorite place in Costa Brava for many reasons. Santi, the owner, is always trying to make you feel like in heaven. Tapas and dishes are deeply studied and cooked with the heart. All products are fresh and cooked at the moment. Anything you ask for, or anything you let them recommend to you is going to be first quality food.
I went alone this time, spending time with Santi and listening to his explanantions about where and how he get those special and natural products, always spending more money than competence with the convincement that the final product and customer experience is the best you can achieve. They bring best rabbits from Emporda, they buy fish, octopus, foie and veal from best productors so we can get better food and flavor. I tried fresh grilled foie (delicious), chicken wings, octopus Galicia style, foie raviolli with local mushrooms and mussels with salt and pepper (an incredible tasty dish, simple and great). Coulant for dessert was the perfect final for this meal.
Don’t miss their outdoor terrace. A nice an extense area, very quite and with great atmosphere. Ideal for kids, as they can play and run and let you eat and spend nice conversations without thinking a lot about them for a while…

Can Nasi Restaurant in Begur:
I love this restaurant. It’s located in one of my favorite Costa Brava medieval villages: Begur. I’ve been there twice, always loving taking a long walk through their streets, with nice sqaures, shops and spots, including amazing views of L’Estartit and Illes Medes. After the walk we went to Can Nasi because a friend of mine recommended to me.
The food is just perfect. Great presentation, good amount of food and you know from the forst bite you’re tasting fresh and high quality products from the area. Fish is a specialty, but meats and salads are main choices. Desserts are homemade and delicious… My kid loved “crema catalana”, I personally prefer “recuit de drap”, something between yoghurt and cheese, very typical in Emporda.
Inside room is beautiful. At summer you’ll enjoy more their big but private and intimate outside terrace.

La Cantonada Restaurant in La Bisbal d’ Emporda:
I was staying in Can Massa Rural House with my girlfriend, in La Pera, next to Púbol and Gala-Dalí Museum. One of our visits was in La Bisbal d’Empordà, capital of Baix Empordà (Low Emporda). You can see lots of pottery shops, antique stores and nice bakeries. Visiting the street market on a friday, we arrived to this restaurant, very centric.
Restaurant La Cantonada has a nice terrace outside, right next to a huge stone wall that gives an incredible atmosphere. Inside, decoration is beautiful, very wooded and also quite, relaxed. Food is perfectly cooked, using fresh products from the area, and has big african and mediterranean influence. We tried hummus, sweat duck (confit), a delicious hake and a fruit salad.
Highly recommended place, very affordable. You can ask for their special menus.

La Croissanteria in Llafranc:
This is one of my favorite places to eat. It’s not a restaurant, but you can eat a full meal and sit in tables. You can try a delicious hamburger, an extense sandwich carte and amazing criossants and pastry. They work all day, and always offer hot and fresh food. I love their terrace, in a nice square right in front of the beach. Llafranc beach is not very big and really beautiful. It’s a full experience if you spend some time at the beach and have a cheap and delicious lunch or dinner at “La Croissanteria de Llafranc”.
I recommend chocolate “napolitanas” and their special chicken sanwiches. They have, in the same sqaure, a little natural juice stand, including fruit salads and amazing ice creams. Also cheap and very healthy!
If you want to try a fancy restaurant in the village, Restaurant Simpson is a great choice, right in front of the sea and beachwalk.

El Celler de la Planassa Restaurant in Palamos:
This restaurant offers an amazing culinary experience near the port of Palamos. Fish you eat is fresh, arrived to the port every morning and selled in “La Lonja de Palamós”. This restaurant is one of the most beautiful and delicious I’ve been in the Costa Brava. This is a familiar restaurant, you can still meet the old man who started the business more than 50 decades ago. Now, his daughter runs it efficiently. She’s very kind and always smiling. Let her or any waiter suggest you dishes and wines. The experience will be memorable. Left some room for desserts, as they make them carefully with original recipies.
Consider a nice night walk after dinner through the promenade, port and old village streets.

Restaurant Sa Torre in Palau-Sator:Peratallada, Sant Feliu de Boada and Palau-Sator make a magic triangle. 3 medieval villages located less than 5 km away from each other, all of them very nice and well located, close to the beach and main attractions in Costa Brava. In Palau-Sator, me and some friends found this restaurant. It’s an old renovated house located inside the old stone walls of the village. Location is perfect, decoration and atmosphere transports you… I loved the rice they made with love, I could feel it. Little fried fish, cold sausages and meats were amazingly tasty. We had one of those unforgettable experiences with my old friends while visiting Spain. Maria, the owner, was very nice and treated us like kings!
