Sallés Hotel Mas Tapiolas is located in the Solius valley, a place where quietness and relaxation is very present. You can see it, hear it, breath it and feel it. Gardens, water, forest, birds singing and a unique view of Solius village and valley.
The hotel is perfectly comunicated with the main roads that connect the most important locations in the area. Girona is 20 minutes by car, Lloret de Mar and Platja d’Aro are 10 minutes away, and going north through the Costa Brava, you will find must see places like Begur, Pals, Peratallada, Monells, Calella de Pafrugell, Llafranc, La Bisbal d’Emporda, L’Escala, Figueres, Empuriabrava, Roses and Cadaqués, among many others.
Girona Airport is the perfect connection if you’re coming by plane. Barcelona is one hour from the hotel, so still a good option.
The first thing that impressed me was that, at the moment you leave the main road that crosses the Baix Emporda, you start driving in a short but beautiful little road that goes to the Hotel. Surrounded by trees, forest and valleys, the atmosphere of the whole hotel transports you to old times.
Silent, peaceful, charming and relaxing place. This is the ideal hotel to stay if you want to enjoy the Costa Brava while staying at a very quiet and private place, plenty of services and facilities that will make your holiday an authentic pleasure.
In my check-in I met Julie, accommodation director of the hotel, and was very friendly and nice with me, talking about many aspects of the hotel, the tradition and history of the place as well as giving me advice about things to see and do around.
The hotel is divided in two parts: the new building with standard and superior rooms, most of them familiar, all with yard or terrace, depending if it’s the first or second floor; and the old farmhouse or “masia” from XVII th century, wich represents the roots of the original place and offers a different stay. A rural environment with all services and facilities included, separated from the modern part. They respected the original structure of the house and now they can offer a delightful experience there.
This chance of living the Mas Tapiolas experience in two very different ways seems a great idea, really rare to find these days, and give customers a great excuse to repeat.
Service is very friendly and helpful with all your needs. Don’t hesitate and ask what you want, they’ll be glad to help. Definetely a familiar hotel and personal treatment.
Facilities and Services:
They have Spa with hot pool, sauna and thermal therapies, massages at “Ganesh” area, tennis court, bike rental, big forest area in the hotel property where you can enjoy mountain bike, walking, horse riding and archery. Outdoor swimming pools, including one for children. Reading room with chimeney, a gym and spacious gardens between buildings and facilities.
Something I specially liked was the kids playing zone they have. “El Racó de l’Abril”: games, outdoor garden with playground and an interior room. A very useful service if you go with little kids.
They also have a very nice restaurant and celebration areas for weddings and special occasions.
Buffet breakfast, spa, wifi and tennis court are free if staying at the hotel.
They have very good offers and packages for families and couples. Romantic stay, special activities, anti-stress, horses, biking with picnic at the forest and much more.
Spa is closed for children in the afternoon. I loved the jacuzzi and the waterfalls for my back. Also enoyed the sauna with benches at different levels and the steam room.
The rooms in the old restored farmhouse are very unique and special. Rural decoration with high comfort and quality. That’s recommended for special occasions.
The new building has two floors and 31 rooms. Rooms in the first floor have a nice and quite big garden and second floor rooms have spacious terraces.
I stayed at a superior room, wich had a beautiful bed and big space around. Mini-bar, cable TV, stereo, a desk, two extremely comfortable chairs and a great bathroom. Neo-classic style with full comfort. Great views of Solius village and the valley.
Most of the rooms in the hotel are familiar, so you can go with your kids and be perfectly accomodated.
They work with seasonal products and their style is the traditional catalan gastronomy. Salads, carpaccios, duck confit, soups, rices, fresh fish from the Mediterranean Sea, grilled meat from Girona and many other specialties. A lot of people from outside the hotel, specially people living around, are regular customers of the restaurant, as they have a high quality product at very affordable price in a unique environment. They have recommendations and suggestions apart depending on the season and the fresh products they can get.
Special menus like the “Gastronomic Menu” for 25€ and the romantic menu, including surprises at the room.
As I said before, the property is quite big and includes a forest where you can enjoy many activities. Solius village is a little location right in front of the hotel that deserves a visit. Monks and nuns live in the valley since many centuries ago, and that’s a clue on how relaxing and peaceful the area is.
10 minutes driving and you can reach some nice beaches and two golf courses. Sant Feliu de Guixols, Platja d’Aro, Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar, Palafrugell, Calella, Llafranc and Palamós are very close too.
Comunication is great, and you can visit many other interesting villages in 30 minutes more or less. Girona, Figueres, Cadaqués, Peratallada, Begur, Pals, L’Estartit and the Medes Islands, etc.
Swim, walk, ride, bike, read, scuba-dive, rest, discover, experience and enjoy the Costa Brava.
